Police are appealing for witnesses after an elderly man was assaulted by four females.
The 76-year-old victim was attempting to drive out of Carberry Road, Upper Norwood, when it was blocked by two other vehicles, at about 5.30am on Saturday, February 2.
The victim got out of his vehicle and as he approached one of the cars in the road, a woman shouted at him.
The woman then assaulted him and a further three women are said to have joined in the assault, leaving the man with serious injuries to his face and eye.
All four women then got into the vehicle and drove off into Westow Street. The women are described as black females aged approximately 17 or 18 years old.
DC Lucy Shears from Croydon CID said: "We understand there was a party at the SE19 Bar which had not long finished before this incident and there were a number of people leaving that would have either seen what happened during this assault or who may even know who the four suspects are.
"This was a seemingly unprovoked and violent attack on an elderly man and I would urge anyone who may have seen something or if you have any information to contact us as soon as possible."
Anyone with information or who witnessed the incident should contact Croydon police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
