Sixty new trees were planted in Cheam Village at the weekend.
On Saturday morning (February 16) on Cheam recreation ground, families turned up to give the area a leafy future.
Cheam Liberal Democrat Councillor Mary Burstow, who helped organise the event, said: "Where once there was grass, there is now a small woodland, for people to wander through and enjoy.
"Many thanks to everyone who came to lend a hand. It showed that there is a real community spirit in Cheam. People really value their park and want to do their bit to make it look even more beautiful."
