An estate agent could be Britain’s next top model after battling his way to the final stages of a nationwide competition.
Jay Collins, 19, from Kingston is a sales negotiator at Coombe Residential in Wimbledon. He is one of just 17 men who have been selected from thousands to compete in the Top Model UK competition in April.
If successful, Mr Collins will receive runway training and photo-shoot opportunities in a bid to kick start a career in modelling.
Last year’s winner, Nick Shaw, went on to be win professional contracts with House of Fraser, Remus Uomo and Armani.
Mr Collins said: "This is a genuine opportunity to learn from industry professionals and through hands on experience.
"I am determined to make the most it and, if successful, would very much like to work with a major brand."
In addition to the major awards, the public can vote for their favourite online at a cost of £1 per vote which will go directly to Children with Cancer UK, based at Great Ormond Street.
