Regarding your article 'Bowls clubs accuse council of plotting tax on elderly', it is interesting to learn that Councillor Judge "wants bowling to thrive in Merton" and the Council will consult with clubs to increase membership and generate more participation.
What a turn-a-round!
Only six months ago the Council unceremoniously withdrew funds and evicted the bowling club from Dundonald Rec due to "financial constraints".
There was no consultation and a suggestion made to the Council that the club might self-fund was ignored.
In view of this change of heart, will the Council reinstate the funding for the Dundonal bowlers and allow them to return to their historic green?
