A cyclist is in a serious condition in hospital following a crash in Kingston earlier today.
The accident between a cyclist and a car happened at 10.20am on London Road, at the junction with Birkenhead Avenue.
Police, paramedics and the London Air Ambulance all attended.
A man in his 50s was taken to St George's Hospital in Tooting with what police described as life-threatening injuries.
But this afternoon a police spokesman said: "Following assessment at hospital, his condition is no longer believed to be life threatening although he remains in a serious condition due to his injuries.
"A vehicle was removed from the scene at the request of police and the investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues.
"No one was arrested."
London Road was closed in both directions, with long tailbacks towards Hampton Wick, New Malden and Norbiton.
The road was re-opened just before 1pm.
