School dinners in Surrey schools have been given the all clear on horse meat, but Surrey County Council is still testing food deliveries.
A spokesman said “We have the Soil Association bronze silver mark accreditation so we take food provenance extremely seriously.
“Our supplier 3663 has assured us that they have full traceability of all food supplied to our schools and none of it has been contaminated with horse meat. None of the implicated food processing plants are used by our suppliers.
“However, as an additional precaution we are testing food deliveries ourselves with the help of our trading standards team.”
The council said if any contaminated beef was found it would immediately withdraw it.
