A new fund has been established with the Community Foundation for Surrey to help older people.
The Pargiter Trust and the Community Foundation for Surrey will support community and voluntary groups that are working with older people in need, improving their health and wellbeing and access to facilities and services.
Types of projects that can be funded include befriending and good neighbourhood schemes, activities to enable older people to stay active and support groups to help older people who are experiencing difficulties.
Professor Patrick Dowling, chairman of the Community Foundation for Surrey, said: “We are delighted to be working with the Pargiter Trust to establish a fund specifically to support older people in Surrey.
“This funding will help local community and voluntary groups continue to offer crucial services to older people in need.”
