A man from Esher is among the best groomed men in Britain, after making it into the final 30 of a national competition to win a modelling contract.

Mark Schofield, 31, of Greenways, beat thousands of entrants and will go head to head with 29 other men in an online public vote.

The competition is organised by shaving brand The Bluebeards Revenge and men’s cancer charity Orchid.

The winner will secure a one-year modelling contract to become the face of The Bluebeards Revenge.

Mr Schofield said: “I want to use this competition to not just further my modelling career, but to also raise the awareness of male cancer in general.

“I want to get more men talking about male cancer, I want them to open up and discuss the disease with their friends and family.

“Ultimately, we need to get more men self-checking on a regular basis as early detection is the key to survival. Hopefully I can do my bit for this very worthwhile cause.”

The competition was launched after a survey revealed that men are still failing to self check for cancer unlike women, who benefit from major health campaigns.

The competition aims to encourage men to self check for cancer during their daily grooming routine.
