MP Tom Brake has praised young people recognised at a recent awards ceremony.
Mr Brake who represents Carshalton and Wallington attended Sutton’s Looked after Children and Young People at a ceremony celebrating their achievements.
The event, on February 26, highlighted the successes of the children, young adults and care leavers looked after in Sutton.
Guests celebrated successes such as the acquisition of GCSEs, successful work placements and a range of other personal accomplishments.
The awards were presented by Mayor Sean Brennan.
Mr Brake said: "I would like to congratulate all the children and young people for their determination, achievements and progress made. It was a pleasure to help recognise all their hard work.
“I would also like to thank everyone who dedicates their time and effort to supporting these children in Sutton, whose everyday lives are often challenging.
“It is uplifting to see how well these young individuals do, despite the various difficulties they have to confront. Their ambition and hard work is inspirational.”
