Workshops for over 50’s that are unemployed or facing redundancy are coming to Wandsworth.
Run by The Prince’s Initiative for Mature Enterprise, the scheme will help people explore self-employment.
The scheme will take place at the Wandsworth Job Centre from March 4, and will run for eight weeks, including three classroom days at the Job Centre.
Students will learn how to research their business idea and create a detailed business plan. They will also be given advice on ways to market and sell their product or service, including tips on pitching to prospective clients.
Carly Powell, Account Manager for Wandsworth Jobcentre Plus said: “Our experience tells us that age is no barrier when it comes to people finding rewarding, paid employment.
“That's why we are delighted to be hosting the first course for over 50’s provided by the Prince’s Initiative at our Wandsworth Jobcentre.
“We are confident that this course will give people who already have the skills, experience and dedication, the confidence to consider setting up a business of their own."
