Drivers trying to find a community centre have been foxed by their sat-navs telling them to get lost.
People trying to find the Riverside Centre in Carshalton have apparently been sent to the wrong addresses on numerous occasions despite putting the correct postcode into their sat navs.
The problem has become so bad neighbours of the centre got in touch with Carshalton and Wallington MP Tom Brake who is taking it up with internet giants Google.
The centre is in Culvers Avenue and is part of the newly built Durand Close development. Many sat-navs are not up-to-date meaning they either cannot locate the address or send drivers to nearby roads.
Mr Brake said: ""I have been told that people experience problems getting to the Riverside Centre when using their sat-navs.
"This issue will sort itself out over time but, in the meantime, I would advise everyone to check the exact address and location before travelling to the Riverside Centre by car.
"Alternatively, if using public transport, the Riverside’s official website gives clear directions on how to get there using buses and trains."
Mr Brake has submitted a request to Google in an effort to get their information updated. He has also contacted major sat-nav makers and has asked them to provide the correct information.
The centre's correct address is 113 Culvers Avenue, Carshalton, SM5 2FJ. It is next door to the Happy Days Pre-School Nursery and near the Lavenders flats.
