An MP will be helping at a stall promoting Fairtrade foods this weekend.
Carshalton and Wallington MP Tom Brake will mark Fairtrade Fortnight by visiting the stall at the St Nicholas Centre in Sutton town centre on Saturday.
Fairtrade Fortnight is an international annual drive to promote products which do not exploit farmers and workers involved in the production of the food.
Mr Brake said: "I’m pleased to support the Fairtrade Fortnight and the message behind this campaign. Farmers and producers in the developing world have the right to make a decent living from their hard work.
"I know that many shoppers in Carshalton and Wallington are already helping the cause by buying Fairtrade goods. I would like to encourage everyone to buy Fairtrade products and help workers and their families get a better deal."
Sutton has been a Fairtrade borough since 2005. the stall will be at the St Nicholas Centre from 10am to 4pm. Shoppers will have the chance to try Fairtrade products as well as buy them.
