Wandsworth Council has reassured parents that no horse meat has been found in school meals since sampling began.
Councils up and down the country have been frantically testing school food products since the horse meat scandal broke earlier this month.
Wandsworth's local authority said it was in close contact with its main suppliers Harrison Catering Services to ensure no contaminated beef products have entered the borough's schools.
A council spokesman said: "No problems have been identified in Wandsworth. Sampling is being carried out to ensure the meat coming in and out of the borough meets all food safety and food labelling standards.
"Samples have been taken from local beef suppliers including low budget shops and wholesalers to include tinned steak and tinned pies.
"Providers of local services such as school meals have also been visited to ensure traceability of their beef products.
"Harrison Catering Services, the main meals provider for local schools, have confirmed that they only use "Red Tractor Farm Assured" beef sourced from reputable farms in this country with full traceability in the preparation of dishes on school menus."
