Putney's shopping centre is to have a brand spanking new shop front as well as a new name.
The Putney Exchange's new frontage, as pictured above, received planning permission in 2012 and will be completed by spring 2014.
Popular high street brand H&M will also be moving into the shopping centre and will reside in the split ground and first floor, also opening in spring 2014..
The shopping centre has, for the last few years, been known as The Exchange, Putney, but customers and residents still referred to it by its former name The Putney Exchange.
But the centre's managers have decided to follow popular opinion and have now decided to revert to its original name.
The new scheme will demolish and re-develop the existing properties at 96-98 Putney High Street in order to reconfigure and modernise the entrance to the shopping centre.
Due to popular request, the stain glass feature will remain as part of the shopping centre's design.
Anne Partridge, the shopping centre's manager; "This new, contemporary scheme will allow Putney to develop its point of difference and maintain its competitive edge over other regional shopping centres which are investing heavily in the London area.
"It should also encourage more local loyalty to Putney especially from those who prefer the convenience of not having to travel long distances to larger centres."
Changes are also being made to the rooftop level of the car park which will be extended to create an additional 45 shopper car parking spaces.
