Well firstly, I’d just like to say I hope all mothers out there had a special day last Sunday.

I know mums should be appreciated every day of the year but hey, commercialism can have its uses.

I got to hang out with my boys, as they looked after me for the day, a lovely card, a Chinese takeaway and a film to snuggle up to in the evening.

This week I’ve been so tired.

The expectant baby has been kicking away like a football player (this is not a clue of the sex of the baby as we don’t know as yet), so sleep has been disturbed constantly, but as some of you know, the show must go on.

My toddler has also been as active as ever. Climbing stairs like Spider-Man, running around like Mo Farah and jumping all over the place like Greg Rutherford.

It’s so funny to play with him and he keeps me active. Don’t get me wrong, keeping up with an energetic little boy is no mean feat.

We visited some friends who have two Irish red setters and Elijah was beside himself with excitement.

He was chasing the dogs around, trying to kiss, stroke, and play with them with no fear at all.

At one point I found him sat in the kitchen with them licking his face with him giggling away.

Hilarious and a bit disgusting, so out came the antibacterial wipes. After all of that, I was ready for a nap myself when we got home.

I do cherish the quiet moments too. He’s brilliant at drawing and is a dab hand at puzzles, which makes me a proud mummy.

But I can tell you by the time I’ve bathed him and read him a story at night; I’m ready for bed too.
