A host of football teams took part in a charity tournament last weekend.
Teams from the police, local businesses and other communities played in the Friendship Cup at Oasis Academy, Shirley to raise money for Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Croydon.
The Ahmadiyya Team won the cup on penalties after a draw in the final round.
The event was organised by the Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association (AMYA) who raised funds for Multiple Sclerosis Croydon after learning that it was one of the Mayor’s nominated charities.
Mubarak Shams said "As we learned more about the difficulties associated with Multiple Sclerosis we wanted to assist. The money raised will go towards supporting sufferers and their families”.
Crystal Palace FC donated a signed shirt for auction on eBay and businesses waived the cost of venue hire.
The Friendship cup will be returning again in the summer. Anyone wanting more information should email friendshipcup@hotmail.co.uk.
