While Wimbledon 2013 could well be the most exciting Championships ever, I know that I will not get to step foot on the most famous grass courts in history.
For me, the buzz and excitement, mixed with the anticipation of playing such a special tournament, will be replaced by becoming just like everyone else in the nation – gripped by the action.
Over the past six months, I have been fortunate enough to get involved in a different side of tennis and this has kept me engaged in the game while I have been receiving treatment for Hodgkin’s Lymphoma.
Having been involved in the Davis Cup coaching team in April, I will be continuing to advise and help British players in any way I can. My time will also be kept busy by media commitments.
I also am looking forward to watching a lot of the action.
There will be some friends playing who have been on tour and who I have not seen in eight months, I want to make sure I am able to support them from the sidelines.
Having watched a lot of tennis this year, the top four male players look in blistering form.
However, in the women’s game, I can’t see anyone stopping Serena Williams from winning her sixth Wimbledon singles title.
