Roads have reopened after flood waters were cleared from Kingston’s one-way system.
But some lanes will remain closed as Thames Water carries out an investigation into the cause of the flood.
Water had blocked the railway underpass causing tailbacks throughout the town centre.
Roadworks in Penryhn Road and Tolworth Broadway were suspended during the delays.
In the early hours of this morning two drivers were rescued from metre-high flood waters by traffic police.
