A frustrated resident has penned a poem about the pong created by rubbish not collected by Kingston Council contractors.
Food waste bins in York Way were not emptied for three weeks, the resident, who asked not to be named, said.
The rubbish was eventually cleared last week.
She wrote:
Filthy, rotting rubbish
Making such a stink
Veolia please take it away
It’s your job I think?
Disgusting sloppy food waste
Sat here for 3 weeks
The bags are all now breaking down
And out the garbage leaks
We’ve spoken with a Councillor
And with Environmental Waste
They’d better pull their fingers out
Get onto this with haste
We’ve spoken to Veolia
No one seems to know
Who is meant to sort this out
And make this problem go.
