Donning their finest outfits and ready to make a lasting impression, reality TV hopefuls descended on Weybridge to bid for their place in the spotlight.
Producers of the upcoming programme Surrey Hills held a casting session at Red Bar, Queens Road, on Saturday, July 27, for auditionees who want to be shown as some of Surrey’s finest.
The programme, billed as Surrey’s answer to Made in Chelsea and The Only Way Is Essex, will follow the county’s “young, beautiful and affluent elite” as they strive for success.
Elmbridge is expected to feature heavily in the programme, with Weybridge, Esher and Cobham set to be key filming locations.
Potential stars were given audition numbers and called one by one to have their photograph taken with the Surrey Hills logo.
Next, hopefuls were called in front of cameras and asked to talk about themselves for one minute in a bid to wow the producers. Nadia Essex, 31, who attended the casting call, is no stranger to the camera, having recently starred on Channel Four’s First Dates.
Miss Essex said she was asked about her love interests, other male hopefuls and her thoughts on stockbroker Benny Rose, who is set to be a star of the show.
She said: “It was a really good day and I think it went well but you just have to wait and see.
“I think it is going to be quite different to Towie and Made in Chelsea. Everyone is very proud of where they are from and are really down to earth.”
Produces have promised the series will have insightful plotlines and potential stars are set to find out in the coming weeks if they have been successful.
