A second attempt to build close to 300 student flats on a Kingston estate has been described as “an insult”.
Residents on the Cambridge Road Estate marched on the Guildhall in June against similar plans.
They saw councillors throw out AK II Property Investment’s attempt to increase the number of student rooms in its council approved plans from 100 to 300.
The developers have returned with a request for 272 flats in a development rising to six storeys.
Jill Preston from the Cambridge Residents Association said: “Everyone in the area is absolutely furious. We think it’s almost an insult. We are going to fight this with everything we have got.”
The planning application is expected to go to the development control committee later this year.
