The best of Kingston’s young musical talent will take part in one of the country’s biggest music competitions.
Seventeen youngsters from the borough will rival around 200 other acts to be crowned London’s best young busker at Gigs 2013.
Kingston hopefuls include Charlie Law, Rosi Yip and Ella Harding, Daniel Smith and Toby Bain.
This year Gigs drew in over 4000 entrants aged 11-25.
Kingston youngster Ella Harding, 17, who performs with Rosi Yip, 17, said: “This is a great way for the public to listen to our music and get feedback from a variety of people.
“All the participants are so supportive and we share each other’s videos on Twitter. Everyone takes part because they love performing.”
The competitors will be playing across London including at the O2, St Pauls Cathedral and Green Park, for the Ride London cycling event.
As well as the coveted title of Gigs Champion, the musicians will be competing for other highly sought after prizes, including the chance to busk around Paris.
