Epsom and Ewell’s green spaces have officially been recognised as among the best in the country.
Five green spaces in the borough - Epsom Common Local Nature Reserve, Nonsuch Park, Ewell Court Park, Alexandra Recreation Ground and Rosebery Park - have been awarded a Green Flag Award.
The national awards, handed out by environmental charity Keep Britain Tidy, recognise and reward the best parks and green spaces across the country.
The criteria green spaces are judged against to win the award are: being a welcoming place; being healthy, safe and secure; being clean and well-maintained; their sustainability; their conservation and heritage; community involvement; and their marketing and management.
