A demonstration of how to use cutters at Epsom fire station in 2009
Firefighters used hydraulic cutters to remove a car roof and rescue a trapped driver after a crash yesterday.
Three cars crashed and a lamp post was knocked down on the A217 in Kingswood at about 3pm.
Epsom firefighter Tom Howe said the cars suffered "significant damage" and one of them was shunted quite far.
Mr Howe said: “For us it was a pretty bread and butter incident. We arrived and got on with it.
"There was considerable traffic.”
