A charity on the verge of collapse has appealed for help to prevent them from closing.
My Voice, based in Wimbledon, has helped more than 100,000 children since they first opened in 1991 by offering a mentoring service and workshops to help and support disadvantaged children.
Over the last three years the charity has lost all of its government and local authority funding and has been trying to run the charity purely on support from the public, companies, trusts and foundations.
However the recession has had a serious impact on the charity's fundraising which is now facing a "severe and immediate" cash flow crisis.
Its efforts to help dozens of disadvantaged children could soon come to an end unless £50,000 boost can be raised by the end of September to secure the short term future of the project.
Half of this has already been raised but a further £25,000 is still needed to maintain services for dozens of children in need.
Gillian Morris, the chief executive of the charity, said: "Its about helping the children who we see every day at the bus stop or at the shopping centre.
"These are children who really need our help and it is an easy small step and we would appreciate any support that anyone can give."
