A hypnotherapist from Purley is hoping birthing tips she sent to the Duchess of Cambridge were used during the royal birth last week.
Paola Bagnall sent her hypnobirthing book 'Birth Made Easy' to the royal couple at St James' Palace last December, after hearing The Duchess was considering using hypnosis to help ease the pain of childbirth.
The self-hypnosis book comes with a CD and teaches women how they can take control of their mind and body during childbirth.
Techniques described in the book include self hypnosis, visualisation and different breathing methods.
The former Biology teacher who left the profession to take up hypnotherapy full time, said: "There was all that speculation that she was thinking about using hypnotherapy, so I sent her my book and received two lovely letters from the Palace, thanking me.
"I would be thrilled if she used my book."
