Croydon Council has secured £90,000 of Government funding in a bid to boost the uptake of electric cars in the borough.
The grants, awarded to just two London boroughs, will be spent on installing new charging points across Croydon.
The council will receive £30,000 this year and £60,000 next year as part of £37m central Government investment nationwide.
The funding was announced by transport minister Norman Baker.
