A former boxer harassed his partner's suicidal ex boyfriend, telling him he would bring him a razor and a piece of rope around to help him kill himself, a court heard.
William Isaac, 44, denies putting a person in fear of violence by harassment by sending eight text messages and attempting to phone Simon Russell last year.
The jury at Croydon Crown Court heard how Russell, the father of Isaac's girlfriend Carly Allan's two children, was supposed to look after them at the weekend, but forgot.
Isaac, of Thames Avenue, Worcester Park, tried to call him, the court heard today, but when he failed to get through began texting him.
Mr Russell's mother asked Isaac to leave her son alone and told him that he had recently tried to take his own life., the jury was told.
The jury heard how Isaac then text him saying "If you want to kill yourself just do it you mug", another read "do you want a razor or a rope you muggy c***?".
Isaac told the court he sent the messages, and admitted some might have been "below the belt", but claimed they did not constitute harassment.
He said that he sent the texts "in anger" but only after Miss Allan's children had complained to him that there was no food at their father's house.
Issac said that the complaint, along with Russell forgetting about collecting the children, had caused him to react, but denied ever threatening him, the court heard.
But Russell told police he thought Isaac was going to kill him, moving out of his house and into various bed and breakfasts to avoid him.
The judge over the trial today summed up the evidence heard at the trial.
The jury have now retired to consider their verdict.
