A vulnerable pensioner who went missing in the Putney area yesterday has been found safe and well.
Clifford Bell, 69, a permanent resident at the Royal Hospital for Neuro-Disability in West Hill, absconded from the site on Monday evening.
His daughter Katie Bell launched an appeal to track him down but concern was high because Mr Bell essentially has no short term memory.
After being missing for almost 24 hours, Mr Bell, who suffered a recent brain injury, was spotted in east London and his family was contacted.
Ms Bell wrote on Facebook: "The most certain way to succeed is always to try just one more time. For all of you who tried one more time, I owe you everything.
"Pops was found in Stratford last night trying to get into a car with his Freedom Pass. Thanks you all."
