A pensioner is releasing a CD in aid of Cancer Research UK.
Tony Steven, 70, from Carshalton, is raising money and awareness for the charity with his CD featuring the highlights of his career.
Mr Steven is a former resident singer of Easy Beat and the Saturday Club whose performances were broadcast from the Playhouse at Charing Cross every Sunday throughout the 1960s.
He said: “CDs like these have sparked off some wild rumours recently, with some believing that David Bowie featured on one of the albums when it was me. I wanted to take some of that publicity and have it help a cause that is close to my heart.”
Jenny Flack, Cancer Research UK’s area volunteer manager for Surrey, said: “We are absolutely delighted that Tony is supporting Cancer Research UK in this way.”
Tony’s album Remembering the Stars of Easy Beat and the Saturday Club is available to buy now.
