A Range Rover was left lying on it side after repeatedly flipping over following a crash in Croydon town centre yesterday.
Emergency services were called to Wellesley Road, just north of the underpass at about 3pm, to reports of an accident involving two cars - the Land Rover and a black Peugeot.
Witnesses reported seeing the Range Rover rolling over 12 times.
It is understood the male driver escaped the Range Rover unaided following the crash.
The female driver of the second car was trapped in the vehicle and freed from the car by firefighters from Croydon fire station.
A London Fire Brigade spokeswoman said: "One person was trapped and injured. This person was released by firefighters and taken to hospital."
Two ambulance crews were sent to the scene and treated two patients.
A spokeswoman for the London Ambulance Service confirmed one person was taken to the Princess Royal Hospital with minor injuries.
Pedestrians were also lucky to escape uninjured after one car lost a wheel in the accident, which landed in the middle of the road.
