A brazen thief got more than he bargained for when he tried to steal from two women at a cashpoint.
The women aged 25 and 27 were taking money out of the Barclays cashpoint in Central Road, Worcester Park, when a man on a bicycle lunged forward to grab the cash.
However, the man was no match for the two women who fought him off and pushed him away.
The brazen thief then spat at one of the girls who reacted by pulling him off his bike.
When the girls left to meet their mum further up the street the cyclist rode up and had the cheek to say to their mum: “If I was going to rob them I would have taken the money.
“Your kids need to learn some manners.”
The man is described as white, 5ft 8in tall and wearing a distinctive blue and white, knitted Alpine hat with strings hanging down from its earpieces. He was wearing a black jacket and riding and red and black bicycle.
The incident happened on Sunday, June 9 at 7.15pm.
If you recognise the man call Sutton Police station on 101 quoting ref no: 4005406/13 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
