Sutton Council needs to wake up to developers, to ensure what is planned and agreed proceeds without delay, to avoid the building eyesores, we the residents have to face every day.
Notwithstanding the impression this gives of Sutton appearing a derelict Borough. Victoria House being a prime example.
I would however question why Stonegate's the owners of the Victoria House site, have not proceeded to develop the site themselves and without delay, given the high level of involvement with the community for many months prior to planning being granted.
Did Stonegate intend to make their profit on the planning consent being granted, all along? Or was a financial burden imposed on them by the local authority coupled with the restrictions on their planning request, too high a price for proceeding with the project?
Perhaps, Stonegate could give their account, of why the development stalled.
