I am trying to trace any relations/photograph/pilot's flying log book of a world war two RAF fighter pilot Robert Alan Johnston who came from Putney, London.
Whilst serving in No.611 Squadron he was shot down over France and sadly killed on 9.7.1941 aged 23.Pilot Officer Johnston was flying Spitfire MkVb W3325 when he lost his life.
His Spitfire was a presentation aircraft named "Newcastle-On-Tyne I".
He was the son of Robert & Kathleen Johnston of Putney, London.
My interest is researching aircraft crashes and I am in the process of writing a book.
