A band which was given its name because it stretches and contracts according to the size of the venue will be coming to Thames Ditton as a five-piece.

The Elastic Band has been in residency at the renowned Half Moon pub in Putney for many years and still play there every Sunday lunchtime, but will take time out of their busy schedule to play at the Vera Fletcher Hall.

Guitarist Diz Disley, who played with the late Stephane Grappelli, will be joined by Dick Laurie, Ken Reece, Don Cook and John Day to play music from Dixieland to mainstream and New Orleans to Bebop.

The Elastic Band have played many prestigious engagements such as the opening of the Channel Tunnel, the Lord Mayor of London events, the Ordination of the first woman priest at the St. James's Church in Piccadilly, and at many jazz festivals.

The band will be adding the Thames Ditton venue to their long list on conquests, which include the National Theatre, the Royal Festival Hall, the Barbican Centre and the Royal Albert Hall.
