Heavy rain has led to more flooding in Ewell, with large pools spreading across paths and into roads.
A pond fed by a spring overflowed on Wednesday night, inundating the pavement by the Dog Gate entrance to Bourne Hall Park on the High Street.
Heavy rain last night worsened the situation and there is also flooding at the Ridings in Chessington Road.
Of the flooding at Bourne Hall, museum assistant David Brooks said: "It’s not happened in 15 years or so. It’s not particularly bad but it is unusual.
"The water takes some time to build up in the underground water courses."
The Bourne Hall lake is the source of the Hogsmill River which drains into the Thames at Kingston.
The flooding is opposite public toilets which are set to be turned into homes after planning permission was granted last night.
A council spokesman said: "We checked all the water courses and they are totally clear. It’s purely the sheer amount of water entering the water courses.
"We were looking at whether to demolish one of the dams there, but then there would be an impact further downstream.
"A small amount of water on the highway is much better than houses flooding downstream."
Brian Angus, chairman of the Ewell Village Residents’ Association, said: "There’s a lot of water around, but something needs to be done to let the water out of the pond.
"The flooding there is causing considerable difficulty. It’s been a long-standing problem for that bus stop to be flooded."
Regarding the flooding in Chessington Road, he said: "People taking kids to school and commuters are finding they do not have the right footwear on."
Flooding at the Ridings in Chessington Road, Ewell
Over the Christmas Ewell escaped the floods which badly hit Leatherhead when the River Mole burst its banks.
A flood alert for the River Mole this morning said: "River levels are rising in response to overnight rainfall, in particular in the Sidlow area.
"Flooding of low lying land and roads is likely but property flooding is not currently expected.
"The rivers are currently very sensitive to rainfall and are responding more than usual. The weather forecast is for further bands of rain throughout today which may cause a further rise in river levels."
A commuter avoids flooding at the Ridings in Chessington Road
In Leatherhead, hail showers are forecast for this afternoon and heavy rain is expected tonight.
Robert Russell, from Hatch Gardens, Burgh Heath, said the road by the grandstand at Epsom Downs Racecourse appears to flood every time it rains.
Mr Russell said: "It is an on-going problem. It was worst than ever this morning."
Ewell lies on a spring line on the north face of the Downs where chalk meets clay and its springs attracted prehistoric people to the area.
In the early 17th century Epsom became a spa town when a spring containing Epsom salts was found on the common.
