Battersea fire fighters were called out last night when a car caught fire.
Nobody was injured but a man was described as being in shock after the blaze.
There was only one person in the car at the time.
An electrical fire sparked under the bonnet and torched the vehicle's windscreen.
Firefighters, called out to the incident at 11.01pm, said it was fortunate the car wasn't engulfed in flames.
The fire took place in Battersea Rise on the junction near Spencer Park.
One fire engine was sent out to the incident, and police were also at the scene.
