A man narrowly escaped death by jumping out of his car just before it was engulfed in 25ft flames.
Epsom fire service was called to Holly Lane, in Banstead, on Sunday, June 1, at 9.20am, where a VW Touareg 4x4 car was on fire.
A firefighter said: "A gentleman was driving along and his car lost power. Then he saw a small flame flicker from the bonnet.
"He jumped out and by the time he got outside it was on fire.
"By the time we were on the scene it was fully engulfed in 25ft flames."
He said that the driver was uninjured in the incident.
