Police cordoned off a road after reports an unexploded World War Two bomb had been found in a back garden.
Residents of Craigen Avenue in Addiscombe were told they could face evacuation after the supposed discovery this morning.
But closer inspection revealed a rather less explosive find - part of a dustbin.
Police have now reopened the road.
