A Polish man has been charged with a race attack after a Jewish man’s skullcap was knocked off his head during a music event.
Jaroslaw Kwidzinski, 22, of Woodfield Lane, Ashtead, has been charged with religiously and racially aggravated common assault in Tottenham on Saturday.
The Met said a roughly 20-strong "loose collection" of mainly Eastern European men arrived during the music event in Markfield Recreation Ground.
Disorder broke out and fireworks were thrown. In a separate incident at the event, police have yet to arrest anybody in connection with the stabbing of a 24-year-old Polish man.
The Jewish cloth skullcap, known as a kippah in Hebrew, is worn during prayer or at all times by orthodox men.
Mr Kwidzinski has been bailed to appear at Highbury Corner Magistrates' Court on 14 July.
