A team of innovative schoolboys won their category in a national tech-designing competition.
A group from Sutton Grammar School for Boys competed in the Apps for Good Awards, where they had to design an app around an everyday problem or issue they care about.
The team was made of Dylan Hicks, 14, Oliver O'Dell, 14, Jashvanth Srikantharajah (corr), 14, and 13-year-old Tyler Allcorn.
The four year-9 boys picked up the People’s Choice Award for their app Occassion Location, which helps people find and book venues for parties and events.
They were one of three finalists who featured in the Connected Communities category of the competition.
The team picked up the award on Monday, June 23, at a ceremony at the Barbican in London.
They will now work with development agencies to launch the app in Januray 2015.
Tyler Allcorn said: "The intensity of the atmosphere before the winners were announced was indescribable.
"I heard Occasion Location being read out and my emotions were jumbled.
"I did not know whether to scream, cry or shout, so I just walked on to the stage, collected the trophy, had a picture taken with the crew and then sat back down."
