Four-legged recruits of the Metropolitan Police are among those showing off their skills at Imber Court this weekend.
The Metropolitan Police Service’s (MPS) mounted training establishment opens its doors to the public on Saturday, July 19, to showcase the specialist units that support daily policing.
Police horses will be among those in the spotlight, with the mounted branch enjoying an activity ride and officers will also take part in a high-octane display of horse riding skills as they jump through rings of fire.
A public order demonstration and a helicopter pursuit where pretend suspects escape into the grounds of Imber Court will also take place.
The forces newest puppy recruits will also be visit the open day.
Chief Superintendent Mark Bird, from the MPS pan-London taskforce, said: "This open day promises to be fun and enjoyable for visitors of all ages.
"It is a perfect opportunity to come and see some of the exciting and varied police units that support daily policing on London's streets.
"There will be plenty of officers on hand to chat to and answer any burning questions you may have about individual units, whether that be about sniffer dogs, the mounted branch, the police helicopter, the territorial support group or the even marine police unit."
Children’s activities and refreshments will be available throughout the day.
The open day takes place at Metropolitan Police Sports Club, Ember Lane, East Molesey, from 11am to 4pm.
The first display takes place at 12.30pm and entry is free all day.
