Met Police boss Jimmy Cooper is hoping striker Michael Charles can continue his fine start to the Ryman Premier League season.
Charles, who has nine goals to his name this term, scored the opener in Tuesday’s 2-0 win at Wingate & Finchley that cemented the Blues’ place in the division’s top five after Saturday’s 0-0 draw with Dulwich Hamlet.
“He is deadly in front of goal and is a natural goal poacher,” said the manager.
“He works hard and contributes a lot more than just goals to the team.”
Youngster Jack Knight added the second goal in Tuesday’s win meaning the Blues are fifth in the table with a four point cushion to sixth ahead of Saturday’s trip to rock-bottom Lewes.
“A win on Saturday will really cement us in the play-offs. We need that cushion with our squad size,” added Cooper.
