Busy roads and cars gave one artist the inspiration for a new Selsdon landmark.
Metalwork artist Jon Mills created a clock sculpture for a traffic island in Addington Road.
Influenced by Selsdon Woods, the clock's structure resembles a tree and contains cars and road-shaped leaves.
Members of the Selsdon community chose the design of a clock because they wanted the piece of art to be a landmark and functional.
In 1998 Mr Mills' work appeared at the Croydon Clocktower as part of Terry Gilliam's Devious Devices exhibition.
Councillor Steve Hollands, cabinet member for culture and sport, said: "The artist has clearly taken on board all aspects of the location using the three faces to the clock to reflect the triangle island it is situated on."
The clock will be officially unveiled on Saturday, February 10.
