A young girl was filmed in freezing conditions, muddy air fields and even a former dungeon while making the newly-released Woman in Black: Angel of Death, writes Alice Foster.
Amelia Crouch, 10, from Epsom, plays the role of an evacuee in the British horror film alongside War Horse star Jeremy Irvine.
The talented child actress, who attends Stagecoach Sutton and Southfield Park Primary School in Epsom, has her eyes set on an acting career.
Her mother Rachel Crouch, owner of Stagecoach Epsom, says: "She won the role over thousands of children last year when the director Tom Harper said she was such a natural actress. "She filmed for a gruelling eight weeks last winter in some very tough conditions and locations around the UK. She loved every minute of it too."
Amelia plays the role of Flora, one of eight war evacuees who are moved to Eel Marsh House in the countryside and encounter the Woman in Black.
Her mother says: "Unfortunately she kills some of the children but Amelia's role of Flora fortunately survives!
"She filmed in the causeway in Essex during winter and some scenes the children were in such cold weather then had to wear special protective clothes under their costumes.
"We also shot scenes in the air fields in Oxford which were also very wet and muddy. One scene was in an ex-dungeon in London."
Her family went to see the film at the Odeon in Epsom when it was released on New Year’s Day.
