Confidence is key in sport and Met Police boss Jimmy Cooper reckons the Blues are play-off bound if they can keep their tails up.
The Imber Court outfit are unbeaten in the Ryman Premier League since November 10 and have won six of the past seven league encounters.
A Ryan James double and a Charlie Collins penalty accounted for Witham Town 3-1 on Tuesday to put the Blues comfortably in the division's top five.
They head to Leatherhead on Saturday before making the trip to Hendon on Monday – games that could yield a crucial six points.
Midfielder James’ double is indicative of the form Cooper’s men are in and the manager reckons belief in their ability can see his side to a best ever league finish this term.
“The confidence is flowing and the guys do not think they are going to get beaten when they go out on the pitch,” he said.
“We’re playing good football, we’re solid at the backs nd goals are coming from all sorts of different people.
“I’m happy with the way it has gone and if we can keep believing in ourselves then we have every chance of making the play-offs.”
Suspensions and injuries seem like the only things that can de-rail the Blues, Something Cooper was mindful of this week.
“We got five bookings at Hampton & Richmond Borough and picked up four against Witham,” he added.
“They were bookings – I‘ve got no arguments with that – but the consistency from refs this season has been appaling because in the same game, other teams are not getting punished in the same way.
“We have now lost Elliot Taylor for two games and Rob Bartley is only one booking away from a suspension. It is going to cause us problems,”
And those problems could start this week.
“We have to approach the Leatherhead game as if it is a derby and with a bit more mettle,” added Cooper.
“Hendon are probably the best side we have played this season, so it is going to be tough.
“We have to aim to not get beaten away from home and win our home games “Then we should be all right come the end of the season.”
