Corinthian Casuals boss Matt Howard has backed cashed-up Badshot Lea to reach the Surrey Senior Cup semi-finals at the expense of Molesey.
Casuals followed Ryman Premier League Kingstonian in falling to the Combined Counties League Premier Division outfit as they crashed 4-1 at King George’s Field, care of a Danny Turner hat-trick on Tuesday night.
The result came a week after Casuals booted League Two AFC Wimbledon out of the London Senior Cup on penalties.
Ks lost to Lea in the second round and Howard, who saw Danny Dudley sent-off on a miserable night, reckons Molesey will be the latest to feel the force of 24-goal forward Turner.
“When you get to this stage of a cup competition, you want to go on and win it,” said Howard.
“We tried and we came up against a very very good Badshot Lea side.
“I don’t know what their budget is, but I’m sure it’s quite competitive for the league they’re in, and I know they were on £50 a man on top of their wages to beat us, which they’ve done.
“Do I think they’ll win the quarter final against Molesey? Yeah – definitely. I think they’ll win comfortably.”
