Back-to-back wins have left Corinthian Casuals boss Matt Howard ruing his side’s lengthy mid-season slump.
Howard's’ side, who won 2-0 at Hastings United on Monday night after last week’s 1-0 triumph over Faversham Town, had topped the Ryman Division One South table after nine matches.
But a run that saw them win just three games in 16 before the club’s historic tour to Brazil, scuppered hopes of promotion.
Casuals travel to play-off chasing Whyteleafe on Saturday and Howard wants his side’s revival to continue.
“It’s such a shame our bad spell lasted so long. If we’d have won three of those matches, we’d have been right in the hunt,” he said.
“We’ve got games in hand and they’re coming thick and fast. Bring them on.“ Max Austin scored on his debut from the bench on Monday and his manager expects more goals to come.
“Three minutes into his Casuals career and Max has scored,” said Howard.
“I’ll take that all day long. He’s got more in the tank for sure.”
