Julia Donaldson has produced dozens of captivating children’s stories, but for my two, their favourite is the about the adventures of The Stickman.
So my two were very excited to learn that the stage production was coming to the Rose Theatre in Kingston.
And they were not disappointed. The story, for those who are unawares, follows the plight of the Stickman one day when he goes out for a jog.
He then gets picked up by a dog , gets mistaken for a pooh-stick - and so the adventure, and his calamities, goes on from summer until winter.
It all ends with a snowy ride with Father Christmas back to his ‘Stick lady love’ and their three children in the Family Tree.
The show runs for about 55 minutes, ideal for young children, and the show has clever props and good songs to keep the youngsters entertained. There was also an ample amount of interaction with the audience.
Although aimed at a young audience, the show proved to be just as entertaining for adults with their children in tow.
