A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away there was an official Star Wars Holiday Special that is not fondly remembered, to say the least.
But this Christmas, to capitalise on the excitement of JJ Abram’s The Force Awakens, theatre group N16 is jumping on the Millennium Falcon bandwagon and hosting its very own 100 per cent unofficial homage to the saga.
A Festive Homage to the Greatest Film Saga of All Time runs from December 14 to 17 at The Bedford in Balham, promises a night of comedy and drama from award-winning playwrights exploring the topics that have vexed Star Wars fans for years: who are the people beneath those Stormtrooper helmets, what was going through a certain Gungan’s head on his first day as a senator, and did the cantina band ever play anything else?
Tickets cost £12 or £10 concessions. Go to ticketsource.co.uk/theatren16
